Tanzania 2018

  • Camps International

In 2018 I travelled to Tanzania, East Africa, with Camps International, an international volunteer operation with an aim to help communities in struggling nations. During this one month stay we were tasked with building parts of a school and preserving wildlife reserves by digging watering holes.

  • Safari

During our time there we were afforded some downtime after working and often played fotoball with the local children or walked through the towns we were staying in. However we also were given the opportunity to go on a one day safari as well as scuba dive and recieve our diving qualifications.

  • Document

Through out the entire month I documented our time there as well as taking the opportunity to take wildlife photographs on the safari. While these images may not be technically sound they are still a nice memory to look through.

Where Were We Based.

During our Month stay we were able to intergrate into teh local communities via staying in compounds in the local areas. Cities such as Moshi and Tanga housed camps alongside more rural camps in the regions of Manyara and Ndarakwai.

During the Downtime.

While this trip was by no means a vacation we were afforded a few days downtime at each camp during our month stay. While some of these days were spent resting for the hard days of labour ahead of us others consisted of pre-arranged activites. One such activity was a one day safari in which many of the images you have currently viewed were taken. Another activity was being open water scuba divers certified By PADI.
